Darkei Yehuda first and second grade pupils hosted their mothers and grandmothers for a Siddur and Tehillim party.
The children and their guests gathered in a classroom where an array of delicious-looking dairy refreshments awaited them. Guest speaker Mrs. Tovi Baron emceed the event, at which the cheerful youngsters enthusiastically participated in activities highlighting our connection to prayer.
Afterward, with warm words of encouragement, Ashdod Chief Rabbi HaRav Yosef Sheinin presented Siddurim (prayer books) and books of Tehillim (Psalms) to the pupils in the assembly room of the Talmud Torah.
The crowd returned to the classroom, where lunch was served. Principal Mrs. Ruth Atias addressed the group with inspiring words.
In a lively conclusion to the celebration, children, mothers and grandmothers joined in energetic dancing and singing.
