Lessons for Living at Shvilei Chinuch, Beitar
During occupational therapy sessions, the students practice life skills. The youngsters learn how to prepare food for themselves and how to iron their clothes. They learn how to put their possessions and living areas in order, and how to clean the various items and rooms in their home.
Reading and understanding the written word are vital skills for each of us. In order to improve their reading ability, enhance their vocabulary and have fun at the same time, Shvilei Chinuch students bake cookies (for our British friends: we mean biscuits.)
The youngsters learn to read a recipe, to write it, and then to follow the instructions until the tasty results are slid onto cooling racks. While producing the treats, they learn new words and hone their kitchen skills. Plus, they improve the atmosphere by creating a delicious aroma…
