Tzohar L'Tohar's annual Chanukah party drew children from the local Rechasim community and from nearby towns.
A major objective of Tzohar L'Tohar's educational policy is to integrate mainstream children and special needs children. For Chanukah, Tzohar L'Tohar aspired to host an enjoyable event for youngsters from mainstream schools as well as Tzohar students.
The school happily achieved its goal when tens of area children from mainstream schools and their parents joined special education students at the various activities, including craft sessions, carefully rehearsed skits performed by girls from Tzohar L'Tohar and a Chinese auction.
The party gave mainstream pupils a chance to observe youngsters from the special education stream, and provided them the opportunity to change pre-conceived ideas about children with special needs.
Profits from the fair are being used to buy medical assistive devices plus advanced equipment to help Tzohar L'Tohar students who cannot yet speak learn to communicate.
