As our readers recall, we recently sponsored school activities aimed at strengthening Bein Adam L'Chavero, feelings of unity and of good relations between people.
During the weeks that we operated these activities, each student received a raffle ticket every time he excelled in respectful behavior or in helping another person.
On the day of the raffle, each student received a certificate of appreciation recognizing his efforts and progress in respectful behavior towards others.
Then, the student was invited to insert his raffle tickets into the raffle box next to the prize of his choice.
Particularly good prizes were raffled off, including a karaoke set, a skateboard, a remote-controlled toy airplane, and a scooter, among others. The prizes were donated by generous friends of Chochmat Israel.
The excited students took out sifri Tehillim and murmured several mizmorim and then, spontaneously, suddenly took upon themselves ol malchus Shomayim by reciting Shema Israel.
After the raffle, the happy winners posed for pictures with their prizes.
Then, several of the youngsters who have particularly good voices led a joyous song fest in which the students seemed to revel in their new-found closeness born of the improved understanding and mutual help developed during the weeks of the Bein Adam L'Chavero activities.
